AI rune spread interpretation online

If you read with your own runes, you can get an interpretation here in the same format as a reading on the site. Choose the spread, mark the rune in each position and whether it’s upright or reversed, and beneath each rune you’ll find its meaning, advice and a link to its page, plus an AI interpretation that connects the runes to your question.

It suits newcomers to Elder Futhark rune interpretation as well as experienced readers checking their own conclusions. A rune doesn’t pass verdicts; it points to what is worth thinking about.

How it works

  1. Choose the layout

Five rune spreads are available: “Yes or no with runes” with a single rune, “Three runes”, the Norns spread, the love rune spread and the five-rune cross. Pick the one you used.

  2. Mark your runes

For each position, choose the rune lying there and mark it “Reversed” if it’s upside down. You can write a question or leave the field empty.

  3. Read the interpretation

Beneath each rune is its meaning and a piece of advice. The interpretation has its own link: save it to return to the spread later.

When an interpretation helps

It comes in handy when you have runes of your own (carved, bought or given to you) but don’t yet know all 24 signs by heart. It also lets you check your own reading: did your first impression match what the rune says in that position? If you’re learning, it’s useful to see how one rune shifts its shade of meaning between “The situation” and “Result”. And the link keeps the spread: you can come back to it a few days later and calmly look at which hints turned out to matter.

How to mark your spread accurately

The positions follow the order shown on the layout: in “Three runes” the first is the situation, the second the action and the third the result. Mark each rune as it lies in front of you: if the sign is upside down from where you sit, it’s reversed. The signs of nine runes, among them Gebo, Isa and Dagaz, don’t change when turned round, so there’s no “Reversed” box for them: such a rune is always read upright. And a set has only one of each rune, so none can be chosen twice.

Frequently asked questions

Is a rune spread interpretation free?

Yes, within a monthly limit shared by all readings on the site, runes and tarot alike, and each interpretation counts as one reading. The rune meanings are shown without signing in; the AI interpretation and photo recognition open after a free sign-in.

Who will see my question?

Anyone with the link to the interpretation: the question is stored with the runes so that the whole result opens from that link. After 30 days (12 months with a subscription) the interpretation is deleted, and the question with it. Send the link only to people you trust.

My spread doesn’t match any layout. What should I do?

Choose the closest one by number of runes and meaning of the positions: “Yes or no with runes” for a single rune drawn on a direct question, “Three runes”, the Norns or the love spread for three, and the rune cross for five. A custom layout with positions of your own isn’t available yet.

How is this different from a rune reading on the site?

The runes are chosen by you, from your own set, not by a random number generator on the server. Everything else is the same: the same meanings, position texts, advice and AI interpretation, the same look of the result and a link of its own.
